Class Assignment

I am in Mr. Porfido's seventh period Web 2.0 class. This year in Web 2.0 I expected to learn more about to technology and how to use computers properly. This year so far I have learned how to make posts to my blog, and that the ctrl button actually means control, not central. I also learned may things I didn't know about the internet before.
Web 2.0

Mr. Porfido has a very simple grading policy. It's 40% for formal assessments, 40% for weekly projects, 10% for homework, and 10% for informal/class participation/observations(To find out more click here ). In the class we use technology to do some research and to work on articles. Every week on Friday a new tech article is due.( We have to do research on some of the latest technology and do a summary on it. The Tech articles are easy to do and it also teaches you new things you never knew before.

Since we have recently started the class, there isn't much we know about field trips and any special projects. If there are any to come up in the future, I really hope we get to work in groups. Working in groups would be really fun and it would be easier and faster to get things done.

3D Printing (tech article 02/07/2014)

3D Printing

  • 3D printers spit out materials instead of ink on a piece of paper
  • Multiple layers are stacked on each other to create a 3D object
  • Can create moving objects
  • 3D printing has been used for pharmaceutical drugs like ibuprofen
  • In the future organ donors won't be needed. Instead they can print an organ specially customized for each person.
